Congratulations to the Marist Catholic College Penshurst of 2025 on your outstanding Higher School Certificate (HSC) results!
Our school was among the top 100 schools in the state according to The Sydney Morning Herald rankings, placing 99th in the state.
We recorded 146 Distinguished Achievers and three Top Achievers:
- Sarah Kenny – third place in Retail Services Examination
- Averyll Tirtadidjaja – third place in Music
- Paris Xanthoudakis – third place in Modern Greek Beginners
Every HSC course was above the stage average and 61% of student results were Band 5 or 6.
More than 34 per cent of students achieved an ATAR of more than 85, while together the cohort received 158 nationally recognised VET Certificate II and III qualifications.
Twenty-one students also received nominations across the HSC Showcases, with Brendan Yung and Nicholas Kolmac receiving inclusions.
Principal Connie Frino congratulated Year 12 on their fantastic achievements.
“Our initial reaction to seeing the school’s results was a strong sense of pride. The outcomes of this year’s HSC cohort represent a consistent performance across the board and reflect a culture of high expectations,” she said.
“These successes are driven by our highly skilled and motivated staff, whose dedication ensured that students were well prepared. We were particularly impressed by the strength shown in practical subjects, which highlighted the balance of academic excellence and nurturing individual talents within our school community.”
Mrs Frino attributed the College’s success to the supportive environment and strong school culture that encourage students to strive for excellence.
“Strategic preparation has played a vital role, with careful planning for targeted HSC support focussing on building skills and revision, ensuring that students are confident heading into exams,” she said.
“Equally important has been the thoughtful approach to subject selection, where mentoring and the use of data have guided students to choose subjects aligned with their passions and areas of expertise.”
