Congratulations to the Marist Catholic College Penshurst Class of 2023 on your outstanding Higher School Certificate (HSC) results!

Our school was among the top 150 in The Sydney Morning Herald rankings, placing 145th in the state. 

We recorded 74 Distinguished Achievers, two Top Achievers and a Band 6 rate of 12.2 per cent.

Our results also included two First in Course awards, with Paula Karoglan placing first in the state in Croatian Continuers and Sylvia Veljancevski placing first in the state in Macedonian Continuers.

Marist Catholic College Penshurst Principal Connie Frino congratulated Year 12 on a fantastic effort. 

“Observing our school’s results, I was once again proud to witness Marist Catholic College Penshurst’s consistent excellence, with 31 out of the 33 delivered HSC courses surpassing the State mean.

“The key to our school’s HSC successes is attributed to our students being guided and mentored by proficient, seasoned teachers. These educators possess comprehensive knowledge of their subjects and comprehend the standards necessary for achieving high performance in the HSC”.

“What struck me most about the Class of 2023 was their remarkable unity and positive teamwork. This cohort displayed a cohesive spirit, encouraging each other to strive for their best”. 

“We are delighted to report that 88% of our results fall within the top three bands, a testament to their collective efforts,” Mrs Frino said.

SUCCESS ACROSS THE SYSTEM 

Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) has once again achieved outstanding results in the 2023 Higher School Certificate (HSC) with nine of its 33 secondary schools ranked among the top 100 high schools in NSW.

A total of 18 schools ranked among the top 150 high schools—one more than last year—strengthening SCS’s position as one of the top performing systems in Australia.

SCS recorded an impressive 2780 Distinguished Achievers, 47 Top Achievers and 67 All Rounders.

Notably, eight SCS students also received HSC First in Course honours.
